ABOUT
I'm originally from Reston, Virginia, a suburb of Washington, DC. When we were growing up, our parents often took my sister and me to the museums and galleries downtown to see the latest art installations and cultural exhibitions.
Those early experiences had a lasting influence on my interests, leading me to complete a BA in History at the University of Virginia, and later earning a master's in Photography at the Brooks Institute in California. During those years in college and graduate school I traveled extensively, visiting 20+ countries and learning to speak Spanish fluently.
I still love traveling but I've settled down in Austin, Texas, where I shoot for editorial and commercial clients. I have also had the pleasure of teaching Photography since 2009, currently as an adjunct professor at Austin Community College and the Art Institute of Austin.
When I'm not on assignment or teaching classes, I love doing DIY projects around the house, tending to my collection of succulents and houseplants, and trying to capture the cuteness of our pug, Backpack. You can check out my efforts on Instagram: @backpackthepug :)
In 2019, I started offering photography and styling workshops in partnership with Stephanie Bohn in an endeavor we call BOHN MULLOY & Co.
